Leadership Board

Marc Gardner and his wife Elizabeth (Liz) were married July 7th, 2007 at Crosswinds. Marc is a graduate of Nazareth College with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. He currently works as a Physical Therapist at Thompson Health in the Sports Medicine department. Marc has been attending Crosswinds since 2004 and serves as a back-up singer and actor in worship arts. He and Liz also currently volunteer with the youth ministry as small group leaders. Marc’s previous ministry experiences include serving as the Youth Mission Director at his former church where he led a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in 2000 and Chapter President of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship at Monroe Community College.
Bill Hughes and his family have been attending Crosswinds since 2002. Bill and his wife, Stacey, live in Fairport with their two children, Ashley (14) and William (9). Stacey and Ashley both currently serve in the children’s ministry. Presently, Bill leads the effort for coordinating the annual golf tournament which benefits Crosswinds Downtown Food Pantry. During his years at Crosswinds, he has served in the following ministry areas: children, youth, small groups, and sports. The Hughes family enjoys participating in the annual Crosswinds 5k Race. Professionally, Bill is an IT Project Leader with Paychex.
wendy_nelson Wendy Nelson has been married to Karl for 25 years. Lives in Canandaigua with her daughter Ashley who has graduated from Messiah College and persuing her Masters in mental health counseling. She has been at Ontario ARC (25 years) working with people with developmental disabilities. She currently manages community day programs as well as day programs on the campuses of FLCC and Hobart and William Smith Colleges. They have attended Crosswinds for about 12 years including volunteering with the youth group for 7 years, chair set up team, nursery volunteer and greeter. They also had the privilege of being on the planning team and the launching of Crosswinds Downtown.
ron_peck Ron Peck has been married to his wife Joni for 46 years. They have been members at Crosswinds since 2004. Ron was brought up in a Christian family and made a commitment to Christ in 1973. Prior to retiring he was a member of a Fairport church, where he served as leader of the audio ministry for over 25 years. His primary spiritual gifts are service and helps. Ron & Joni are currently involved in the usher / greeter ministry and in weekly tech. set up for worship. We have been blessed with two children (Renee & Greg); both are married. They have three grandchildren. Ron & Joni live at Serendipity Cottage on Keuka Lake in a home they built. Professionally, Ron is retired after working 36 years in engineering and engineering management at Xerox. His current interests center on church, family, water sports, and home projects.
rhoda_phil1 Phil Rhoda has been attending Crosswinds Wesleyan Church since 1998. Phil & his wife, Michelle live in the village of Bloomfield. They have two children, Rebecca age (7) Eli (5). Phil works at Bloomfield True Value Hardware. Phil has volunteered as the Saturday night coffee host coordinator, Uptown small group leader on Sunday morning, played a part in the last three Easter musicals, helped with summer camps for both Uptown and Project Urge, is involved in inner city ministry with Jacob’s Ladder, helps the Facility Manager with various projects, and is Tech. leader for Celebrate Recovery. Phil thanks the LORD for saving him for his labor was all in vain before he met Him.
schwartz_carl1 Carl Schwartz and his wife Kerri have attended Crosswinds since 2001. Carl has four children, Ruby Rose (10), Lily Pearl (9), Daisy Jewel (5) and Thorn Sterling (3). Carl has served predominantly in the areas of worship and leadership while attending Crosswinds having played the roles of “Marcus” in The Choice (2004) and “Simon” in Finally Free (2006) and has led worship at Uptown. Carl served as the Vice Chairman of the LBA from 2008 through 2010. Carl is involved with leadership at the district level of the Wesleyan Church. He is a local attorney and serves as the Chairman of the Board at LeTourneau Camp. Carl accepted Christ as his personal Savior as a child and has been involved in ministry throughout his life.
Arlen Snyder and his wife Debbie have been attending Crosswinds since 1995 which was one year after their marriage. They have 8 children between them. He grew up in a Christian home and realized at the age of 13 that he was responsible for his life. He considers that to be the time he became a Christ centered person. He has tried to live his life in such a way as to be a witness for Christ. He is a retired Orthopedic Surgeon, having practiced in Canandaigua from 1979 to 2007. He still does independent medical examinations which is really a full time job. He and Debbie have served for 16 years in Uptown teaching 2yr olds to 5th grade. He has also served on three EMRT services. The both also co-chair the Bridge-To-The-Future expansion program for the Uptown project.
scott_walker2 Scott Walker has been attending Crosswinds since 2001 along with his wife of 19 years, Sue, and children, Justin (15), Ben (11), and Evan (6). Scott accepted Christ as his savior in 2002 and has been involved with the Children’s ministry ever since as a small group leader and host. He also volunteers as a youth leader at The Box and as a men’s small group leader. When Crosswinds Downtown was formed, Scott was part of the advisory board for 2 years. Scott is also active with the Boy Scouts and is currently a den leader. He lives in Shortsville and has over 20 years management experience as a business owner. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family in the outdoors.
weatherby_sarge1 Craig (Sarge) Wetherby started attending Crosswinds in 2002, and subsequently became a covenant member. He has been married to Lisa for 6 1/2 years and has two adult stepdaughters. Sarge accepted Christ as his Savior in 1995 and actively shares his faith with every opportunity presented. He currently serves on the Exalt Worship Team the first Saturday of every month by preparing meals for the team. Sarge’s previous church leadership experiences before coming to Crosswinds includes serving on a Leadership Board and Trustee Committee, as well serving as chairman of the Staff Parish Relations Committee and Care & Connect Ministry. He also previously served as a lay minister and lay speaker. Sarge is the manager of the Mill Department at Ingleside Machine, Inc., where he has worked for 27 years.
