Children's Ministries

What To Expect

Uptown is the Crosswind’s environment where children learn how to discover Christ’s love.  The friendly Uptown teammates show children how they fit into God’s big story and can change their world by living out the character of Christ.

Uptown strongly encourages family participation in at home activities and practice so we all can grow up in the way
we express Godly values through everyday actions.

Weekends

Uptown’s 3 environments meet Sunday mornings at 9  and 11:00am, and are designed for children 8 weeks through 5th grade.  So while adults are experiencing life-changing worship in the Ministry Center, children participate in kid-friendly worship through our super-fun environments.  Inspiring worship leaders and story-tellers, loveable hosts, and small groups that encourage friendship and application of the week’s lesson through activities and games.
Children’s programming is not offered on Saturday evening at Crosswinds.

Weekend Summer Schedule - June 27 - Sept 12

Preschool Place and Rte K-5 small groups will be taking a break for the summer. Families will check Preschool Place-5th Graders in before service as usual, but will go together to the Ministry Center for worship in “Big Church” . Kids will be released to Uptown about 25 minutes into the service, and will
enjoy a large group worship time with age appropriate teaching in Uptown.

Family Experience

The first Sunday of each month (October – June) parents are invited to bring their Preschool-5th Grade children to the Chapel to FamX!  FamX is a high-energy super-fun environment where families can worship together and discover Christ’s love.  This exciting 40 minute, 1x/month event starts at 10:15am, between Crosswinds’ Sunday morning services.  Learning together in FamX is a great opportunity to find ways your family can partner with church to continue learning biblical truth through at home practice.  Parents/Guardians must be present, no drop-offs are allowed.

Baby Blvd:
8 weeks - Two Years
In Baby Blvd, caring volunteers give your child their first impressions of a loving, heavenly Father.

PreSchool Pl:
Three and Four year olds
Through fun and interactive teaching, children will learn 3 basis truths: God loves me; God made me; Jesus wants to be my friend forever!

Route K-5: Kindergarten - 5th Grades
Our K-5 program provides a unique, accessible strategy for children to model the character of Jesus in their lives.  We want each child to grow up and say: I need to make the wise choice; I can trust God no matter what; I should treat others the way I want to be treated.  Each month these truths are emphasized through a biblical virtue. Rte K5 children are engaged in Large Group worship & story telling AND Small Group interaction.

Meet Our Sponsor Children In Sierra Leone

Uptown encourages cheerful giving.  We do not take offerings in our Large or Small group environments, rather we allow children to make financial donations at any time in the Joy Boxes located in the Uptown Hallway.  All Joy Box offerings go to support our sponsor children, Moses and Aminata who live in Sierra Leone, West Africa.

Moses Sesay
Moses is 12 years old and lives with his father, mother, brothers and sisters. Moses likes to play soccer (or football, as they call it) with his best friend, Daniel. His favorite subjects in school are math and religious moral education. Moses would like to be a pastor someday.
Aminata Thullah
Aminata is 17 years old and lives with a foster mother since both of her parents passed away. Aminata likes to sing and sings in her church choir. Her favorite subject in school is science. When Aminita graduates high school, she would like to go to Nursing School.
